460 Teachers were trained across five districts in the Northern Region through the Cha-Ching program
Building financially capable young people begins with equipping the educators who shape their learning experiences.
From 28 September to 2 October 2026, JA Ghana conducted a five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) program in the Northern Region under its Cha-Ching financial literacy program, reaching educators across five districts.
The training engaged 460 teachers and 107 education stakeholders, including School Improvement Support Officers, headteachers and other education personnel, across:
Tamale Metropolitan – 78 teachers and 16 education stakeholders.
Kumbungu – 80 teachers and 22 education stakeholders.
Sagnarigu – 123 teachers and 17 education stakeholders.
Nanton – 50 teachers and 32 education stakeholders.
Savelugu – 129 teachers and 20 education stakeholders.
The training focused on strengthening educators' capacity to deliver financial literacy lessons that help children understand essential money management principles, including Earn, Save, Spend and Donate.
Through the Cha-Ching program, JA Ghana seeks to build healthy financial habits among children from an early age, helping them understand the value of money, make informed financial decisions and develop responsible attitudes towards managing their resources.
The participation of education stakeholders also reinforced the importance of collaboration between JA Ghana and the Ghana Education Service in supporting the delivery of quality financial education.
Reaching 460 teachers creates an opportunity to extend financial literacy learning beyond the training room and into classrooms, where children can begin developing financial habits that will serve them throughout their lives.
By investing in teachers today, we are strengthening the foundation for a more financially capable generation tomorrow.
