About This Program

The Akyem Tumfa Vocational Training Programme is an initiative by JA Ghana and the PepsiCo Foundation designed to empower underserved youth in the Eastern Region.

It equips participants with artisanal skills, entrepreneurial education, and business mentorship to foster financial independence.

Target Audience: Focuses on unemployed youth and young mothers, with an inaugural cohort of 9 individuals.

Training Structure: Begins with a practical boot camp focusing on financial literacy, leadership, design thinking, and business modeling.

Apprenticeship: Participants undergo 6 months of hands-on training under the guidance of local master artisans, specializing in fields like garment making.

Community Support: The program emphasizes long-term economic sustainability, with local communities contributing funds to help graduates launch their own small businesses
